Foshan, Guangdong, is the largest furniture sourcing and trade center in the world, and you’ll need at least 3 days to explore it. In today’s blog, I’ll introduce you to some of the most popular furniture markets, along with buying tips for each.
Lecong International Furnishing City (乐从家具城)
Lecong International Furnishing City is located in Lecong Town, Shunde District, Foshan. This is the largest furniture market in China, combining wholesale, retail, and exhibition spaces.
The furniture markets stretch over ten miles and cover more than 3 million square meters. You can find every type, style, and price of furniture here.
Here are 5 popular furniture markets in Lecong International Furnishing City, along with a quick overview of their locations.
Louvre International Furniture Exhibition Center (罗浮宫国际家具博览中心)
Louvre Furniture Mall is known for its upscale environment and high-end furniture. It’s the largest furniture exhibition center in the world, featuring the finest craftsmanship and the latest styles. And Louvre Furniture Mall is the most expensive among all furniture markets in Foshan.
The first four floors are local Chinese brand furniture, while the fifth and sixth floors feature international luxury brands. Note the sixth floor requires a half-hour appointment in advance.
Sunlink Furniture City North Area (顺联家具城北区)
Just about a kilometer north of the Louvre is the Sunlink North Area, which focuses mainly on retail. It offers high-quality, cost-effective mid-range furniture with a youthful design. Many styles you see at the Louvre can be found here for about half the price.
Red Star Macalline Furniture Mall
Red Star Macalline offers mid-to-high-end furniture wholesale, featuring a range of styles including European, modern, and classical designs. What makes the Red Star Macalline Foshan Lecong Mall unique compared to other cities is that every store has its factory, with most located in Longjiang. This allows for relatively lower prices.
If you find something you like but think it’s too expensive, you can look for similar items by going to affordable furniture wholesale markets: Empire Furniture City (皇朝家私), Sunlink Furniture City South Area (顺联家具城南区), Dongheng Furniture City (东恒家具城), Dongming Furniture City ( 东鸣国际家具城), and Nanhua Furniture City (南华国际家具城).
Here, I’ll introduce 2 major affordable furniture markets.
Shunde Empire Furniture City (顺德皇朝家私)
Located diagonally across from the Louvre Furniture Mall (you’ll need to cross the street), Empire Furniture City offers a wide variety of mid-range furniture, focusing on home and hotel furnishings.
Sunlink Furniture City South Area (顺联家具城南区)
After visiting Empire, you can take a short walk to the Sunlink Furniture City South Area. Prices here are even lower—about half of what you’d find in the Sunlink Furniture City North Area. This market primarily focuses on wholesale, catering to both domestic mid- to low-end furniture e-commerce platforms and foreign purchasers.
Sunlink has many sections, so besides the stores along the road, be sure to check out the inner areas like Sunlink Buildings 2 and 4 on the second floor.
Purchasing tips: while there’s a lot to choose from, the quality can vary, so take your time to look and compare. Don’t just ask for prices; make sure to inquire about materials and fillings. Try sitting on the furniture to see if you like it. If you find something great, don’t rush to place an order—ask the shop owner for a business card, take notes, and snap a photo with the furniture. This will help you compare options later.
If you come across a shop you really like, ask if they can take you to their factory for a closer look.
Longjiang furniture factory clusters
Next to Lecong Town, Longjiang Town is China’s largest furniture production base, home to over 20,000 furniture factories of all sizes. Prices here can be half of what you find in Sunlink North for similar styles and quality. Many factories not only offer wholesale but also allow consumers to buy directly from their showrooms.
Almost every year, an international furniture exhibition is held here, featuring thousands of brands that showcase trendy furniture and original designs. You can find a wide range of styles, from modern luxury to new Chinese fashion.
Purchasing tips: as always, it’s important to look more and compare. Remember not to be swayed by claims of “factory prices.” Be sure to negotiate; you can often get around 80% off the listed price.
Final thoughts
The main purpose of coming to Foshan is to purchase high-quality furniture at a lower cost. Whether you’re purchasing hotel furniture, office furniture, or looking for ready-made furniture or custom pieces for your living room, bedroom, study, dining room, bathroom, kitchen, etc., you’ll find sourcing from Foshan much cheaper compared to buying locally—up to about 30% if sourcing and shipping to Southeast Asian countries.
If you plan to visit Foshan furniture markets, hire a local sourcing agent to guide, translate, communicate, and negotiate product prices for you. Because the English level of the locals is not good. On the other hand, the professional agent can quickly connect you with reliable factories and help you avoid issues that might be hard to notice, especially if you’re a beginner.
